Protection

  • Protect floors and all adjacent surfaces from smears, spatters and dropping. Use drop clothes to protect floors. Cover fixtures not to paint. Mask off area where required.
  • Protect all trees, flowers, grass and etc., from paint drops. Use plastic covers or drop clothes to protect them.

 

preparation

Stucco and wood

  1. All surfaces to be painted shall be cleaned free of loose dirt and dust.
  2. All loose paint shall be removed by sanding, wire brushing or scraping.
  3. Holes, cracks, and damaged sports shall be patched or filled and finished to match texture of adjoining surfaces.
  4. Any surface showing mildew must be completely sterilized before painting.
  5. All prepared area shall be spot/complete primed with primer sealer.
  6. All loose paint shall be removed by sanding or scraping on wood area.
  7. Around doors, window casings, and other wood surfaces shall be caulked with caulking compound.
  8. Holes or blemishes on wood surfaces shall be spot/complete primed with wood primer sealer and filled with putty or other wood patching compound.

Deck

  1. All necessary surface preparation shall be made and waterproof before paint.

Metal

  • Surfaces shall be cleaned provided by sanding with wet or dry paper and shall be primed with Metal primer.
  • Finish coats shall be well brushed, rolled or sprayed to obtain a uniform and evenly applied finish.
  • Contractor shall prepare surfaces, furnish all paint, material, labor and the equipment required for the painting of all surfaces.
  • Drop cloths shall be placed where required to protect from splatter and droppings.

 

Application

  1. Apply material evenly; free from sags, runs, crawls, or defects. Mix to proper consistency, brush out smooth, leaving minimum or brush marks, enamel and varnish uniformly flowed on.
  2. Apply paints by brush, roller or spray.
  3. Apply coats and undercoats in strict accordance for all types of finishes with recommendations of the paint manufacturer. All undercoats shall be tinted slightly to approximate the finish color.
  4. Do not apply finish in areas where dust is being generated. Apply no paint in rain, fog or mist, or when temperature is below 50 degrees F.

 

Materials

  • Use Dunn-Edwards or Sherwin-Williams paint.
  • All color is to be chosen and approved by the customer prior to the application.

 

Cleaning

  • Remove all surplus materials and debris from site and completion of each day’s work.
  • Remove all spattering from all finished surfaces. Leaves paint storage spaces in a clean and finished condition.
